A cult comic book artist and founder of Métal Hurlant magazine and Les Humanoïdes Associés publishing house, Philippe Druillet began his career with these psychedelic posters, which combine outrageous exoticism with Art Nouveau flourishes.
A pioneer of B-movies in France, Jean Rollin made ‘the first French vampire films’ in 1968: 'The Rape of the Vampire', to which he added a second part, 'Vampire Women', for an American producer. Released in Paris during the unrest of May 68, the film became a success by default, all the cinemas having closed because of the protests, except the one showing Rollin's film! Two years later, 'The Nude Vampire' followed the same recipe: slow, sepulchral pace, extravagant script, scantily-clad women...
