Terms and conditions

1 Guarantee of authenticity
Vintage posters, signs, enamels, and artworks from Galerie 1 2 3, are original with guaranteed authenticity. Every poster comes with a certificate of authenticity (IVPDA standards).


2 Description
2.1 Poster condition
The following international codes are used to describe the conservation condition of our posters:
A+/ A / A- / B+ / B / B- / C / D

2.2 Poster restoration and conservation (museum mountings or linen-backing).
Posters are mounted and restored by using reversible techniques and by choosing most excellent materials (acid free).

  • Museum mounting on linen (superior quality cotton canvas with acid free Canson paper)
  • Museum mounting on Japan «Bolloré» thin paper
  • Mounting on soft linen

2.3 Poster’s size
The size is indicated approximately in both centimetres and inches. Width x height, to a precision of +/- 1 cm (0.4 inches)

2.4 Poster’s printing technique
In the condition report, the following terms are used as printing technique:

  • Lithograph on stone (lithograph on limestone)
  • Offset

  • Heliography
  • Serigraphy
  • Other techniques (mixed techniques)

In some cases, the exact printing technique cannot be exactly determined: it could be a mixture of techniques. In case of doubt, the technique will be described as "other technique".

2.5 Poster Images on the Internet website
The quality, color and definition of the pictures published in the Galerie 1 2 3 website may change, depending on the screen settings, software, or other factors.

A image with better resolution can be supplied as a complement to the description of the poster’s condition report, on demand.

2.6 Liability
Poster description is made as accurately as possible and to the best of our knowledge. The Gallery cannot be held liable for omissions or errors in the condition report.

4 Insurance
Galerie 1 2 3 insures posters until delivery, if sent by Fedex. In case of damage due to transportation, the buyer must immediately contact Galerie 1 2 3 and report any concern related to the parcel.


5 Custom Fees & Taxes
To ensure proper custom clearance, Galerie 1 2 3 draws up all the usual documents that are necessary for the customs. Custom fees, importation taxes (such as VAT paid in the destination country) are collected by customs via the courier and are charged to the client.
Galerie 1 2 3 is not responsible for any delays due to customs controls and/or the payment of theses taxes.

European Economic Area (EEA)
As Switzerland is not part of the EEA, EEA countries importations tax (VAT) will be applied according to the custom regulations of each EEA member.

United Kingdom
United Kingdom customs usually tax imports of works of art (original, pre-1973) at 5% of the value of the work. Galerie 1 2 3 will issue a declaration to this effect.
Please note that VAT and any handling fees, customs/import duties and taxes are to be paid by the buyer.

USA
The United States customs do not impose a tax on imported artworks.
US customs will ask the customer (the importer) to provide his registration/identification number for clearance, like his Social Security Number or his Federal Identification Number (SSN / FIN / GST / RFC) in application of the Home Land Security law. For a value over US$ 2’000, the customs dept will ask to complete a form provided directly by Fedex. For example, Fedex apply a clearance fee of about US$ 45, charged to the customer.
American states may apply the local state tax.
Any due tax such as the Patriotic Act is to be paid by the buyer.


6 Sale and cancellation
The online payment is a finalised contract of sale. The amount paid remains due.
A cancellation can be requested by the customer who argues that there has been an error within 24 hours of payment. The Gallery has the freedom to refuse or accept the cancellation of the order, if the shipment is not yet effective, and only in this case. The Gallery will make a refund to the customer's card, after deduction of the credit card collection fees (3.5%) and deduction of the administrative costs incurred (maximum CHF 100.-). In extreme cases, a compensation for loss of offer and sales opportunity may be retained, e.g. immediately after a newsletter or at the launch of an exhibition.

7 Return Policy
In case you are not satisfied by your purchase, you have the right to return it in exchange of a merchandise credit (the value of the purchase less the expenses i.e. return packing fee credit card fee, VAT, etc..)

If there is proof of a discrepancy between the condition report and the actual condition, Galerie 1 2 3 will pay for any additional fees.
 In any case, the buyer must inform Galerie 1 2 3 of any anomalies within 3 days of having received the purchase in order to return it.

8 Email & newsletter
Each online buyer must give an e-mail address to complete a transaction and to ensure follow-up until delivery. By doing so, the buyer agrees to receive our newsletter. It is possible to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with a simple click.


9 Privacy policy
All personal details are treated in strict confidentiality and are not transmitted to a third party.


10 Accepting terms and conditions
All transactions are governed by the present terms and conditions and imply their enforcement.
