Gimondi est l'un des rares coureurs professionnels à avoir notamment remporté les trois grands Tours (Tour de France en 65, Tour d'Italie en 67-69-76, Tour d'Espagne en 68). Il a également gagné le titre mondial en 1973 au "Championnat du monde masculin de cyclisme sur route".
Felice Gimondi a couru de 1973 à 1977 pour l'équipe Bianchi-Campagnolo.
