In 1968, Roger Vadim adapted Jean-Claude Forest's famous comic book Barbarella for the big screen. With its psychedelic settings, extravagant costumes, absurdist humour and playful eroticism, not forgetting Jane Fonda as a scantily clad astronaut from the year 40,000 and John Philip Law as a blind angel, the film still has a cult following more than half a century after its release.
