Original vintage poster Cie Gle Transatlantique, French Line

Paul COLIN

1949

101 x 63 cm
39 x 24 inch

In this rare Art Deco poster for the "Cie Générale Transatlantique", Paul Colin takes up the aesthetics of the Streamline Moderne movement: long horizontal lines, smooth volumes, a sober and sleek look. The close-up composition of the liner gives an impression of imposing grandeur and magnificence, but also of stability and security.

A symbol of the 1930s France, the "Normandie" was considered the most magnificent liner of its time. It made the journey from Le Havre to New York in four days.

Paul Colin at his best.
