He pioneered the art of landing his PIPER CUB on glaciers in the Swiss Alps like no other. Has executed over 600 rescue missions as he managed to land his specially modified aircrafts under extreme conditions on snow covered glaciers. He died from injuries suffered in a fatal plane-crash.
