Chocolat Klaus – Vintage poster – Leonetto CAPPIELLO – 1903 Sold

Created in 1903 by Leonetto Cappiello, this poster was a true revolution in the art of advertisement posters. Its popularity resulted in people rushing in stores to ask for the "red horse chocolate". As the Art Nouveau period started to flicker, this avant-garde poster somehow came as a glimpse of the Art Deco movement and the starting point of the "Cappiello style" which offered a new liberty to the art of publicity.

This picture remained the logo of this Swiss chocolate company during 50 years.
