Into 84 – Keith Haring exhibition at Tony Shafrazi Gallery 1983
The exhibition ‘Into 84’ took place from 3 December 1983 to 7 January 1984 at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in New York.
Keith Haring used a photograph taken by Tseng Kwong Chi of dancer and
choreographer Bill T. Jones, whose body had been completely covered in
graffiti painted by Keith Haring. Bill T. Jones later said: ‘I felt powerful.’
Keith Haring's first solo exhibition took place at Shafrazi in 1982,
initiating a collaboration that would last for many years and would
bring him international recognition.
