"Fly Swissair to new York" In 1949 began the trans-Atlantic Swissair flights with the ex-USAAF C-54 transports converted to Douglas DC-4. This plane allowed Swissair to transport 55 passengers from Switzerland to New York's Ildewild airport (JFK) via a classic westbound stopover at Gander. Swissair DC-4 were in service from 1946 to 1959. Extremely rare Swissair photo-montage poster.
