Original vintage poster Swissair DC-4 HB-ILU

Bernhard REBER

1948

102 x 64 cm
40 x 25 inch

The superb Swissair DC-4 HB-ILU, put into service in 1952 after its take off from Zurich Kloten airport.
This poster is dated 1948. Swissair received its first DC-4 in 1946, but it did not receive the HB-ILU until 1952.
The plane in the poster has the old Swissair logo on its nose, although it never approved on the actual plane.
It flew with the text 'Swiss Air Lines' on the fuselage, in grey and later in red and white. The Kloten passenger terminal which appears on Bernhard Reber's poster is purely imaginery, as it was not built until 1953.
