"TAI, Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux", a 1954 illustrated map by Luc Marie Bayle.
The TAI began as a charter airline in June 1946 in partnership with the Messageries Maritimes company. In 1947, TAI flews to Africa, the main destination being Madagascar; in the early fifties to the far East, then to Australia and New Caledonia in 1956. The TAI fleet was composed of Douglas DC-3s, DC-4s and DC-6s. In October 1963 TAI merged with UAT (Union Aeromaritime de Transport) to form UTA (Union de Transports Aeriens).
