The Wall - Live in Berlin - 21 July 1990
Poster for the spectacular ‘The Wall’ concert in Berlin in July 1990, accompanied by the pink ‘faceless’ mask given to the audience with the following inscription on the back:
‘Hold this mask to your face during the first half of Empty Spaces and the second half of Waiting for the Worms.’
A rare piece of rock history.
350,000 people attended the concert between Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall. A spectacular stage was built using more than 2,500 fireproof polystyrene bricks, and giant puppets and an inflatable pig were placed on top of the wall. Famous artists joined Roger Waters on stage: Van Morrison, Marianne Faithfull, Joni Mitchell, Ute Lemper, Bryan Adams... as well as brass bands from the Russian army!
