Original vintage poster Red Riding Hood

ANONYMOUS

circa 1930

77 x 101 cm
30 x 39 inch

A 1930s poster for the pantomime ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ printed by Taylor's of Wombwell in South Yorkshire. In the mid-1920s, Taylor's of Wombwell was one of the UK's leading printers of advertising for the entertainment industry.
Undoubtedly the most sulphurous illustration of Red Riding Hood in history! No wonder the wolf looks so hungry…
Often reprinted, this poster caused indignation in the early 1950s, so much so that the printer Taylor's had to cover the slit in the skirt with paper before they could stick the posters up!
