Rare German travel poster printed in stone-lithography for the traditional "Christmas market in Ludwigshafen" showing a Santa Claus with all his toys.

Until the end the twenties the figure of Santa Claus was not fixed, he was wearing in a large variety of colors, as on this poster. At the beginning of the thirties, inspired by an illustration by Thomas Nast in the "Harpers Weekly, January 3. 1863", Haddon Sundblom’s depicted the red and white Santa Claus we all know.
