"The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein" is a french operetta by Jacques Offenbach, first produced in Paris at the Variétés on 12th of April 1867. It was performed at the Savoy Theatre in London on December 1897 with Florence St. John as a leading role. A new translation has been made by librettist Charles Brookfield and lyricist Adrian Ross and some plots elements were changed, particularly at the end. The show lasted only 99 performances.
