A true symbol of Leysin, this magnificent art deco poster celebrates not only the Alps resort but also "good health". The slender and dynamic silhouette of a woman in front of a radiant sun and a magnificent panorama evokes the medical benefits of a stay in the canton of Vaud resort. The silhouette designed by Jacomo Muller is probably that of the English dancer Margaret Morris who introduced in 1926 in Leysin her method of treating illnesses such as tuberculosis through movement, dance and body expression.
The bright and warm colours and the simple composition show a luminous nature where it is good to live in. A feeling of freedom emerges from this majestic landscape.
2nd edition of this 1928 poster, first prize in the competition organised in 1927 by the Société de développement de Leysin.
This poster won first prize in the competition for the most beautiful Swiss winter resort poster in Paris in 1935.
