Created in 1880, the "Montres Helvetia" or "The Helvetia Watch Company" brand was at the forefront of watchmaking technology: water-resistant glass, calendar watches, stop second chronographs, a range of water-resistant and shock-resistant sports and pilot's watches, already in the 1930s! After the Second World War, watch production in Switzerland increased steadily and Helvetia produced some of its finest watches.
