Gottfried Honegger's artistic vision combines an educational dimension with a reflection on the role of the artist in our society.
While in the 1950s his canvases synthesised the emotional and the rational, from 1955 he developed a simple but rigorously defined geometric system, combining colours and formal elements.
In 1955, the Zurich School of Applied Arts (Kunstgewerbeschule) organised an exhibition on the profession of ‘graphic designer’ at the Zurich Museum of Decorative Arts (KGMZH) in collaboration with the Association of Swiss Graphic Designers (Verband Schweizer Grafiker).
Gottfried Honegger designed the poster and the exhibition catalogue.
