Maurice BRIANCHON

Maurice Brianchon is a French painter known as one of the Painters of Poetic Reality. His early works are characterised by images of horse racing, later ones by contemplative landscapes and still lifes. He created numerous theatre sets, among other for the Renaud-Barrault company.
His works have been exhibited throughout Europe, with a retrospective in 1951 at the Louvre Museum, but also in the United States and Japan. He was named Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1946 and was selected as one of the official artists for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
