Pour célébrer les 75 ans du magasin bâlois Fritz Blaser & Cie (1882-1984), Celestino Piatti représente ici le "joyeux moineau" (die lustige Spatz), emblème de cet alors célèbre commerce spécialisé dans la quincaillerie et les articles ménagers. Le moineau, avec le slogan "Ich bin so frei" (je suis si libre), devait encourager les clients à visiter le magasin, sans obligation d'achat.
