Exeptionnal hand-signed proof by Lucien Boucher with the following printed dedicace: "Proof n°5 specially printed for René Briend, it was printed 100 exemplars of this map numbered 1 to 100 on Malofsset paper from the Muller papetery" René Briend was one of the founder of Air France the 7 October 1933. This extremely rare poster is the 3rd Air France world map, beautifully printed in stone-lithography in 1934, only 1 year after the Air France opening. It shows the Airlines of the company to the Far East, Brasil and Argentina. Air France has printed most of its maps on two different papers. One regular edition on standard poster paper and a limited deluxe edition on heavy "Malofsset" or "Crêpe - Mongolfier" papers. The issue of the deluxe edition was small as from 100 to 500 prints numbered. The present hand-signed proof #5 on 100, printed on deluxe paper specially for one of the Air france director is not only very decorative but also an historical document highly collectable. A museum piece.
