"The most beautiful business card that Nice could wish for."

In 1950, Chagall moved to the Côte d'Azur (Vence then Saint-Paul de Vence) and remained there until his death. In the early 1960s, the mayor of Nice asked Chagall to design a poster to promote Nice and the Côte d'Azur. Chagall created this poster "Nice, Soleil, Fleurs" showing a mermaid holding a huge bouquet of flowers above the famous Baie des Anges; the colour blue, Chagall's favourite colour, representing the Mediterranean.

Rare poster finely printed in lithography by Chagall himself on the Mourlot printing presses in Paris.
