Saturday the 8th of March 1930, "Bal Arc en ciel" at the Lausanne Palace.

Jean-Jacques MENNET (1889-1969) is a Swiss painter, decorator, illustrator and graphic designer. He created about fifty posters, most of them unknown to us today. Only fifteen or so, extremely rare, have survived and are displayed in museums and in our collection.
From 1928 to 1931, inspired by Paul Colin and cubism, J.J. Mennet designed, among others, the series of posters for the “Bals de l’Arc en Ciel” at the Lausanne Palace. The figure of the mask on several of these posters is reminiscent of the Basel carnival posters.
