"The dance of the dead in Basel" This is the most famous Guggenmusik (Street Band) during the Basler Carnival. Since the Middle-Ages, the first day of the Carnaval, before 4.00AM the city is totally dark. Precisly at 4.00 AM the "Guggenmusik" are invading the street of Basel. For the "dance of the dead" the musicians are dressed in black with a fluorescent skeleton.One the famous traditional event of Switzerland.
