The poster "Swissair Cigarettes: Pure Oriental Tobacco" places in its centre a blue sky colour packet of cigarettes on a cloudy background. Like the planes of the young Swissair airline, the cigarettes take the viewer to a world of travel and freedom.

In 1931, pilot and photographer Walter Mittelholzer and Balz Zimmermann founded the Swissair airline. Three years later, the cigarette manufacturer Vautier launched its new brand "Cigarettes Swissair" and used images from this pioneer of aerial photography for its promotion.

Henri Vautier founded the oldest and most important tobacco factory in the canton of Vaud in 1832, with the first cigarette-making machines in 1893.
