Ronald SEARLE
(1920 – 2011)
Ronald Searle was an English artist, a satirical cartoonist and an illustrator. His cartoons appeared in famous newspapers such as The New Yorker or The Sunday Express. He was a very prolific artist: he worked in advertisements, he created posters, illustrated books, created animations for films, designed for the cinema and also been a sculptor.
From 1951 to 1962, he illustrated in Lemon Hart Rum's posters, the tall and spindly Mr Lemon Hart in his lemon-colour suit and the short and stout Mr Lamb in navy blue.
